The second edition of Uganda Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (UMEC) that had earlier been planned to take place on May 20-21, 2015 has been postponed to a date yet to be communicated.

The conference is a brain child of the Ministry of Energy and mineral development in partnership with AME Trade Limited, a business event organizer targeting emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East and South America

In an E-mail notice from AME Marketing Manager Barbora Kuckova, to all stakeholders and partners which Uganda Oil website has been privy, the organisation cites lack of institutional support .

“The upcoming event UMEC – 2nd Uganda Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition, which was planned for 20-21 May 2015 in Kampala, Uganda, had been cancelled due to lack of institutional support”.

This year’s event in relation to the First edition held in 2013, sought to bring together various stakeholders in Uganda’s energy, minerals and oil and gas industries, including the public and private sector and development partners, as a way exploring gaps and opportunities in the industry

The expo also features presentation sessions and round table discussions, as well as a trade exhibition about energy way forward for national.
