EGYPT: EGAS begins gas connection project

The oil ministry has started the project that aims to connect more houses to the national gas grid, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) organized a workshop for the project’s team on June 25.

The current phase of the project focuses on the technological aspect of the project including implementing resources management system for EGAS to facilitate information access. This phase is scheduled to end by the end of 2018 to the cost of €10 million.

Multiple national and international entities participate in funding this project including the EU, the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD).

The EU is contributing a €68 million grant, €40 million of which is dedicated to connecting 450,000 clients in need.
